We put a bit of info on the official page but I'll let ya guys kno a lil bit more here.
We were making all them lil scratchy tunes after our retirement, basically jamming sessions. We did a lot of jamming sessions and released about 2 jamming albums. Those are currently unavailable to download now but like, they gave you the idea that we STILL liked makin music together even tho we'd retired.
So we were hanging out at a nightclub recently and heard someone playin bass all by them self without a band! So we thought, ya know, lets grab him, so we opened the cubicle door in the bathroom and pulled him out and said, you wanna jam with us?
Mop was not just up for jamming, he pushed us into making some full, proper songs! So we made this EP of like 4 songs. (3 new, and 1 is our retirement track)
I know what you'll be asking be4 u even start listening to the songs. ARE YA MAKING MORE? ARE YA GOING TO MAKE A WHOLE NEW ALBUM NOW?

answer is no. Unfortunately this will be our last musical journey together for a long while. The General.. sadly is moving away to america to continue his jazz work.
It is kinda a sad time 4 us, so please make us happy with your comments on our new songs!

Hey kids! Hope ur ghostin
Just to let you know we're doin fine. Sorry about being so quiet.

You may have heard across a few news networks that Ekalopse was sued 5 million billion pounds for 'stealing' a song from a children's television show.
Yeah we lost the battle and now we almost can't even afford this blog! Even THOUGH IT IS FREE! Shows ya how poor we are.

Anyway we lost our studio .... kinda sad.
So me and The General made a song about no money and recorded it with an internet cafe computer's microphone...

Hope you enjoy...

Yeti Man Album end!

Hi Gusy!

Its Pupendai agin here quickly.

Just letting you know our Producers Xtric Plugkits have taken down our free download album, The Yeti Man's Demo Anthems.
They gav us this statement:

"The album taken down was only up for a limited amount of time. Those who did manage to download it before it was taken down will have the album to have and to hold unto death do them part. The limited edition BSIDES album was always going to come down. All of the past albums and best of are still available on our website." - Xtric Plugkits Spokeswoman.

Anderson's Stut

Hey folks, you ghostin?
Its me, Pupendai!

I kno we been quiet lately n all that but whatevs.
I been spending all my Ekalopse merchandise money on a Spanish holiday with my new girlfriend! Who I met in Spain! And I left in Spain!

So anywayz, when i got back The General called me and said "Pupendai, sorry I can't meet the jamming session this week. SORRY."
He is off recoriding anutha number one jazz album i fink. Well since Ekalopse retired Ekalopse has not been anyones first priority. I kno the fans dont wanna hear that.

So anyway, my friend came into the studio, we had a few beers. His name is Doctor Anderson. He has a terrible stutter poor bloke, hence the name of this song.
Doctor Anderson waz playin guitar on this. The drum beat is a loop The General made, and piano is me making mistakes and luvin in.

I know you guys are always hungry for more and dont care even if its rubbish right? RIGHT, i kno im right.

WE WERE SO DRUNK

Pupendai trys to play guitar

The General: Honestly, I'm a nice guy so I'm not going to laugh at him... but my fellow band member Pupendai tried to play guitar. He wrote this song, Liar's Track.

Pupendai: Give me a ***** break man... people. Come on, I just like moaning, i moan alot so give me a break.... I wanted to call this the smoking song. But the General convinced me to call it Liar's track.. as apparently I'm attempting to lie to people .... saying I can play. I admit i can't play. get over it.

The General: First King Arthur, now Liar's Track. Thinking of a big solo album Pupendai?

Pupendai: Shut up General......

The General: Hahaha

Pupendai: I played some weird sounds on a guitar.. then.. you know. blah. This came out.

The General: This is the second track we've used an acoustic guitar, away from keyboard and electric, the first was me playing on 'L!sten' on the Too Dumb to Panic Album.

Lyrics:

I'm tired
People are wild
I'm not going to use
These words any more

It's a Lie
It's a Liar's Track

Let go
Like I'd try my luck
(Lie Lie Lie Lie)
I want you to know.
I won't try my luck
(Lie Lie Lie Lie)
Try my luck

Harmony Travels with the Apple Pesk (+Stylo)(LIVE)

Hi guys, tis me Pupendai. The 'grubby smoking dog' as The Daily Mirror referred to me yesterday. .erhhk
So when Ekalopse said they have retired... they actually meant.. from making any songs... that make any sense at all... not that they ever did. We also meant no albums.

First off in Ekalopse news, it is apparent that our song 'Pirates' is going to be in new Blobcorpstudios film! We believe the episode might be about a bunch of ninjas.

So as a lot of fans may already know by now we did a gig at 'The Lawn Factory, W2' two nights ago... and guess what, I CAME ON DRUNK. So what... The General was on top form though.... But my keyboard and singing was a rotten mess.

So 'the Daily Mirror' had a right go at us saying 'We've outstayed our welcome and we suck' basically. They said my slurrying and smoking and swearing was ******* pointless and ridiculous and insulting to our fans. But i know our fans understand.

So anyway we also played a jamming session track The Cranberry Orchestra joined us once again and jammed (a track we'd been jamming for a few days....)
General on drums.. all that.
Anyway so I was drunk and we played this song. Sorry about the quality, i recorded this on my iRecord, and Apple failed me yet again! The blame is on the fruit, not the vegetable.
So it was mostly jamming, we slipped a bit of Gorillaz Stylo in there as well, or at least what we thought it sounded like.(burp*

Break in

Hi peeps, Pupendai here.
This 40 year old woman has been like... arrested. She broke into our studio and attempted to blow it up! (Left the stove on, you know.) Guess what, both of us were in it! Luckily The General has a good sense of danger so flew over knocked that woman out!
So anyway, here was her statement

"Its not just me... A lot of us are against Ekalopse. Pupendai in particular, but The General for still working with that ****.
Ever since Mr. Bindy was killed by Pupendai we've been devising plans to KILL EKALOPSE. So...  okay this time did not work. BUT NEXT TIME. Mr. Bindy was a lovely man, his voice was beautiful and his music was heavenly. Without him Ekalopse sounds like **** ****** **** and many others would agree. It has been many years, but our plans are finally colliding. Watch out Pupendai, we'll be coming from all angles, with knives and bullets."

Apparently she is part of a group named 'MittensBindy'. When asked what the 'mittens' bit referred to they all said 'We'll wear mittens when we kill Ekalopse'
Of course as they all revealed themselves they were all arrested and their houses searched. It was discovered that ALL of them were middle aged woman. Meaning they were the young fans in the Fruit Encyklopedia days. Fans gone mad.

In other news, I bought some good cake!
The General says we should retreat, in case any MittensBindy come and find us. I don't know, that would be a real bother. I hate carrying all my stuff to a new place.

Keep Ghostin

Pupendai says hi

Hi peeps, Pupendai here, hope you are ghostin'
I just came back from 9 Downing Street, which is where we've been recording our last few songs. Hope you guys all enjoyed 'The Yeti Man's Demo Anthems'.

Anyway I'm like grumpy with The General like, I was ranting to him about over population on earth and he recorded it!
Then he put it in a song! I'll get him back for that....
You can listen to it here, it is called 'YAMI HUMAN'

The General got out of all his Synths and went a bit mental. My rant is at like.. 2 minutes something. YES I did do something on the track, I played something okay, an instrument... but what instrument  I played is a secret.

*

Also last night we played at the Golden Star Beer Gardens in Perth, Australia. It was a grand night, met some real nutters. I personally got very DRUNK. And The General, he did not, he said he met a nice lady though so that's a plus. Shame he'll never see her again!
(I did not kill her (Got some haters sent me a letter yesterday saying I killed Mr. Bindy and Michael Jackson, just to be clear, i only killed the first one.)

So this is a recording, recorded by a guy with a video phone of us playing the Beer Gardens, we played Steamtrain and a few other tracks. The Cranberry String Orch also joined us.

Here is the original song and music video if you have not seen it.

The End of an Era, the final collection.

Hello readers, this is The General speaking. I'd like to take this opportunity, this, our time of retiring to thank all of those wonderful people that helped us on our musical journey.
2008
Our album, Fruit Encyklopedia was a complete mess. Do not get me wrong, our original and brilliant keyboardist and singer Mr. Bindy was a great asset in our team. But, after Pupendai murdered Mr. Bindy I suddenly realised what a wonderful sound Pupendai and I were making without Bindy. I realised Fruit E was just a mix of garbled tracks and high pitch voices. (At the time, many little girls became our fans, we thought we were on top of the world) We got a bit of cash from merchandise.
On the end of that album we were asked by Blob Corp Studios to create a song for one of their episodes. Pupendai and I were honest with each other, we both knew Pupendai was a terrible singer. So we pulled in the fantastic vocalist, Jayn Tapilin.
She joined us in mixing 'Old Realm'. This was a very important step in our careers, Pupendai and I would later return to this sort of collab work.
Unfortunately Pupendai was arrested for murdering Mr. Bindy... and sent to a high security jail. This was a very hard time for me, and the music I produced really was.. not so nice.
2009
But anyway, I asked the jail if I could go in and record a new album with Pupendai, so I did. We recorded the ever so underground and pathetic 'July'.
Soon after that, well things got a bit crazy. I'd finally forgiven Pupendai fully and was heading to pay for his release (With our merchandise money, oh and by the way, after the murder hit the media, little girls no longer wore our shirts).
Suddenly war broke out, yes, you may remember this on the news, there were clockwork giants walking over the city, destroying homes. They also destroyed the jail, letting Pupendai escape, we both ended up on the run trying to survive the devastation.
On our travels we recording an album from place to place. My music was brilliant, but Pupendai sung pretty terribly, suppose he was quite worn out. We met so many lovely people on our travels inspiring songs like 'Comrades'. Luckily a military force named 'The Rodents' came in and knocked down all of the clockwork monsters. Inspiring the title of the album, Radio Rodent.
2010
We finally found a place to settle, on top of a pretty grassy hill, where gold fell from the sky. We picked up bits and pieces and built our own new studio to record.
This was when it hit us "General... You make music... I can't sing... lets get some guests in!"
We got in loads of guest vocalists for what ended up being, not such a great album in my opinion. I was not at the top of my game... but the vocalists were magnificent.
Jayn Tapilin came back to record our hit track, Pirates. This track hit the world by storm. The little girls were back, and some lonely people as well.
We met a huge obsessive fan of ours named Bryson Baugus. He really wanted to star in the album, so we gave him one track. We realised he was actually quite a good singer so we brought him back. All together he guested in 4 tracks.
2011
There was a huge break between Ghosts and Gold and the 2011 album. This one, we worked our hardest on, and I think, got the best result.
Too Dumb to Panic once again hit the world by storm, but not with one song! With at last 3 :O (Not quite as big as Pirates but close.)
We had some great songs and some great guest vocalists. Everything fitted. I, personally am very happy with that album.
"We should have said so long THEN." - Pupendai
Well we didn't, we picked up our instruments after a long break and recorded 3 new songs. These songs are  available on our new demos album and 2 of them on the 'Best of collection'

Our demo album is titled 'The Yeti Man's Demo Anthems'

The General: "We had no producer on this one, so.. no guests, no amazing editing. All us! Very nice raw material. Apart from Pupendai singing, which is terrible."

New Song and Video from Ekalopse

Today Ekalopse released a new track and video directed by Pete Yon De'Plure, famed director of their last video 'Ekalopse Can't make music'
"Yeah Pete directed our earlier one, so we thought we'd bring him back for like, traditions sake." - Pupendai
"No videos been made since we released a' first album years ago. Why would we want to do them? We did not need the popularity, we were huge!" - Pupendai
"Steamtrain is about those people in life that don't need to try, they can just do whatever they want. Their train journey of life is much simpler than ours. They get it all easy." - Pupendai
"The music is a mostly acoustic feel but with some subtle Xtrics in there. Hope you enjoy" - The General

Pete Yo De'Plure spoke about the video in 'Mue zeeq magazine'.
"I filmed some steam trains, and then i filmed the bands faces. Then i put them together with some other stuff." Mue zeeq magazine gave the video -3/10 stars. Pupendai reviewed the video, "I don't think I am in it enough... also it lacks cute puppies.. like me.."
The General also responded, "We filmed SO much! And the only thing that made it in was me smiling? Come on! We won't be hiring that director again."
Pupendai: "What we've not told anyone is this will be our last song... on the new album and ever."
The General: "We've not had a fight or anything, we're just retiring. We've gotten old."
Pupendai: "We have... its time we put our wrinkles to good use, relaxing and watching soap operas."
The General: "Don't worry though, we still have the new music coming out so relax... "
Pupendai: "We'll also be doing a gig at the O2 next month. Tickets are now avaliable."
The General: "Mm, performing all of our ... better stuff, then releasing a best of hopefully. That will be our end note."
Pupendai: "Yeahm yeah we go get lunch now?"
The General: "Sounds good to me!"

Monday 20 February 2012

Possible album for Ekalopse?
Pupendai was quoted saying, "Working on like, a few yeah." to a barman in a popular London nightclub.

Though it is not clear what there might be a 'few' of. But based on the recent release of the 'One Down' Demo we are hoping they mean songs!

We went to ask the band about these rumours.

Pupendai: "We're not no, but then we always are. You get me?"
The General: "It is cold in here, are you getting goosebumps?"
Pupendai: "Sorry guys but ONE Down was a ONE off, harh harh. The General hates me too much to work with me any more aint that right General?"
The General: "Not true, you're great man."
Pupendai: "Aw.. thanks."
The General: "The new album will be called The Yeti Man's Demo Anthems. Long title, but, yeah. It will be new album but with a lot of unprocessed demos. No guests, no great recording stuff. Xtric Plugkits said I cannot reveal any more."
Pupendai: "One Down, Fish Scales and King Arthur will be on it. Nothing special. Just a bunch of scrappy scraps scrapping up the place. Xtric Plugkits is busy working on other, younger bands so will be leaving us to this."

One Down (Demo)

Ekalopse have released a new demo track for your frightened ears!

It is called One Down.

Pupendai: "Yeah its a'bout like, another year passing like. Us getting older and there being nothing we can do bout it. Its still in demo stages and like, we got a broken microphone so .. yeah. Got a nice theme, hopefully that'll come in the finished song."

The General: "I always love the mixture of acoustic and electronic, listeners may have noticed that. Well here is another taster, taking sounds from 'Buzzdrop', a bit of piano, organ, synth and a bit of brass! Why not stick them all together?"

Pupendai: "Might have been better to make something that sounded a bit more commerical?"

The General: "No."

Pupendai: "This was just us, casually chilling actually. We just played with what we had in the recording studio. We dint like JUMP at it knowing what we were gunna do like, it was totally just like smooth."

The General: "It was, Pupendai playing the keyboard pretty crazy on this one, and I was stabbing those sounds in. The electronic sounds actually smashed a window. But that's another story. It is nice to be back with my old friend."

Pupendai: "WHY are you back? Your jazz career went amazing?"

The General: "I love Jazz, but I also love Ghostpop. Something, we made."

Pupendai: *Cough* And Mr. Bindy but he is dead.

The General: "Yes."
s
Lyrics

One Down (x4)

Fierce marking with licence
Taking my time
Fears growing and growling
Impatience, in rhyme
You can't just call up, sit next to me
We can all grow up
and age seems to be
a curse

One Down (x6)

Monday 2 January 2012

Alright guys??? U all ghostin?
The General is working on some tunes in the studio today (9 Downing Street), but something grossly disgusting has happened. Someone has broken the microphone. I actually think it was DJ Tackyspine who came in yesterday. Horrible man, not even owning up to it. Yeah he did some terrible rap we did not include in the final track. That would have killed ya ear drums.
The General is trying to find inspiration. You guys see his DEBUT Jazz Album release? It came out last month. It was called the tacky title, 'Some General Jazz with The General'. Who does he fink he is? Anyway it sold really well but he says he wants to hit the ghostpop scene again. But the thing with The General is he's got to find something that inspires him, like a genre of sound. Then he likes to mix and match. Then i come along, no care in the world, and i spit on his stuff with excellent vocals am i right?  I don't need inspiration, i just do stuff whenever i can be bovvered.

<<< This is the cover for it, It is called Fantastic Four by Debra Hurd. (The painting) The album is obviously called 'Some General Jazz with The General'.
Its not available on-line, only in shops. Something to do with The General being against online stuff. I dunno.
Tracklist:
1. Livin in the Brass
2. The Yeti Man
3. 50
5. Love Oh
6. Ear Drums

I've not heard any of them but they sound convincing.
It was released a month ago and it is already considered as RARE. HAHAHAHAHA
Okay anyway so The General is up for some more music after yesterdays DJ session. So just wanted to let you know.

Oh yeah and we were nominated for 2 awards.

Most experimental sound at UFARG Awards
for 'Mixbeat Sandwich' (Our track on Too Dumb to Panic)

and Most Piratey song at UFARG Awards
for our song 'Pirates'

We won both of them! Congrats us! No idea what UFARG Awards is though.

Ghostin
- Pupendai

Mirror Press (Jamming session with DJ TekoSpine)

So DJ TekoSpine called up The General. These were his words exactly, "I know you guys are split and all, but I really like the tunes you dudes come up with yo? So Was finkin maybe you'd like to do some collab?"

So we all met back at the Ekalopse Recording Studio (9 Downing Street) and I got on the keyboard, and the General got on the bass.... horns... and drums. He is great you know. Anyway DJ TekoSpine did have the nerve to say "Course you can't play keyboard Pupendai, but you make ****** sound slightly listen-able."
I had to take that as a compliment else he would have smacked me in the face.
So anyway he turned on his Xtric-Plugkit which was on Guitar setting and started wahwahing our sounds. This was the result, nothin special. But if you're a fan you will not complain.

- Pupendai

PS:
Guys the P-Sides has been cancelled or whatever. I got a call sayin they cancelling because HMV and Amazon and all that don't even want the album to sell. They say previous Ekalopse albums have not sold enough and one thats a P-sides aint even worth a shelf. So sorry kids. But to be honest all da songs on there are rubbish anyway! Jus likethe rest of our stuff.

- Pupendai
