9 Albums! Time for a break.

The reason our album 'OK, WE WILL' was called 'OK, WE WILL' was because it was the answer to the question 'Can you stop making music now?'
Turns out, it was not in our nature to just STOP. So we released a new album, Fun but Dead. Now, we have 9 albums! It is about time we stop guys.

The General: "Hey people. I have been getting a lot of messages and emails questioning how much involvement I've had on the album. While I think it is cruel of you to just dismiss Pupendai's work, I am also flattered. But I can assure all of you that I had heavy input on the finished album. My fave songs are Gossip Shops and Hollywood Hospital. Thanks!

Pupendai: Glad I never released any solo stuff..... with this sort of backlash. Thanks guys!!

The General: Also got some emails asking about the lyrics of Hollywood Hospital. Seems like it has had a bit of an impact on people. Care to talk about the lyrics mate?

Pupendai: Nope.

The General: Alright. Last question was how has it been working with Simon Stairs Steps and why has he not left or died yet?

Pupendai: I'm not cursed! I murdered the first one so it can't be a curse. Anyway, it has been great. For the most part Simon seems to get ghostpop and Ekalopse in general.

The General: I certainly agree. While mop was excellent, Simon knows how to keep some energy throughout a song. Plus, he's been rather good at transitioning across from the depressing sound of Ok we will to Fun but dead.

Simon (Stairs Steps): I do feel like I am part of Ekalopse now. What a feeling. Both guys are really talented, well mainly The General, but Pupendai is very enthusiastic. His lyrics are alright too. No idea what he's talking about most of the time though.

Pupendai: The lyrics are still pretty sad on this album but I try and be somewhat optimistic. I was doing ok until I just fell apart and wrote Hollywood Hospital and Keep Telling Me.
The full album is 39 minutes 50. Which is ever so slightly shorter than the last ones but there is plenty to enjoy in there.

The General: Next email asks 'What was it like working with DJ Bralant again?'

Pupendai: Well, believe it or not, we've actually worked on 3 songs with him now. First one was James Bralant you're ok..., then it was Light the Way (Instrumental for a song originally about him). Lastly, James Bralant doesn't even want to think about it. This was certainly his best work. His ego was on top form this time around. The song is short and sweet.

DJ Bralant: I love working with Ekalopse. They seem to be the only ones that love me.

The General: 'Which too songs best say 'fun but dead' for you guys?' ummm good question. Maybe Never Gonna Change and Hollywood Hospital?

Pupendai: No idea

Simon (Stairs Steps): Escape to the Movies and Gossip Shops?

The General: Thanks everyone for sending in their questions. We hope you enjoy our album. We'll keep you updated on tours and any new music. I know Pupendai does seem to always fall back to the keyboard but I think it's certainly the right time for us to take a break. So I will not be participating in any future Ekalopse music RIGHT now. Maybe in the future.

Pupendai: And we will wait. I won't ever release an album without The General. Without him, we'd just be depressinkalopse. No one wants that. It's always exciting was jazz stuff he's been up to where ever he travels to. But yeah, The General worked with me while i was in jail, I'll never leave him. We are Ekalopse forever guys. Friends stick together, for Mr. Bindy.

The General: Aww, sweet. Rest in peace Mr. Bindy.

Simon (Stairs Steps): I never met the guy but he was obviously very talented and a good friend to you guys. It's a shame he didn't live long enough to work with you again. But I suppose if he was not dead, i'd be jobless! Silver lining...

Pupendai: Too soon Steps.

Simon (Stairs Steps): Sorry Pup.

The General: OH, before we go. I'd like to just say thanks to Erin for performing on our song Kidding. It mainly an experimental song. We just wanted to see how long we could go while remaining interesting. Erin was excellent.

Pupendai: She was marvelous.

The General: Bye everyone!

Pupendai: Bye!! Please put a little x next to my Bye! so it like i am kissing my fans x hopefully that not creepy.

Pupendai: "Simon (Stairs Steps) basically wrote all these songs and then when The General visited from America he basically said ' scrap this, scrap that, this is amazing, scrap that!' and he added a whole load of other stuff. He really took full advantage of his holiday in the uk. I very rarely saw him leave the studio. He's very passionate about Ekalopse and that makes me so happy.
Though he's kind of upset there are so many song titles with the word 'THE' in it...."

S. Steps: "Ekalopse is a weird monster. Pupendai and the General kind of say, 'anything goes!' and all this mental stuff  happens and it does not really matter if none of it works. It's funny like that. But yeah, I'm proud of what we did. I'm more confident now since the last album. Also, I think I'm the only collab musician to have not died after the first album so that must be a good sign!"

The General: "I'm busy."

Pupendai: "We were just trying to make a happier sounding album after all of the misery in the last 2. There is still some misery hiding here but it's more unleashed and free. We have broken out of the depressing hole that was 'Ok, We Will.' Generally we hope the sound is more jolly.
