Pupendai says hi

Hi peeps, Pupendai here, hope you are ghostin'
I just came back from 9 Downing Street, which is where we've been recording our last few songs. Hope you guys all enjoyed 'The Yeti Man's Demo Anthems'.

Anyway I'm like grumpy with The General like, I was ranting to him about over population on earth and he recorded it!
Then he put it in a song! I'll get him back for that....
You can listen to it here, it is called 'YAMI HUMAN'

The General got out of all his Synths and went a bit mental. My rant is at like.. 2 minutes something. YES I did do something on the track, I played something okay, an instrument... but what instrument  I played is a secret.

*

Also last night we played at the Golden Star Beer Gardens in Perth, Australia. It was a grand night, met some real nutters. I personally got very DRUNK. And The General, he did not, he said he met a nice lady though so that's a plus. Shame he'll never see her again!
(I did not kill her (Got some haters sent me a letter yesterday saying I killed Mr. Bindy and Michael Jackson, just to be clear, i only killed the first one.)

So this is a recording, recorded by a guy with a video phone of us playing the Beer Gardens, we played Steamtrain and a few other tracks. The Cranberry String Orch also joined us.

Here is the original song and music video if you have not seen it.

The End of an Era, the final collection.

Hello readers, this is The General speaking. I'd like to take this opportunity, this, our time of retiring to thank all of those wonderful people that helped us on our musical journey.
2008
Our album, Fruit Encyklopedia was a complete mess. Do not get me wrong, our original and brilliant keyboardist and singer Mr. Bindy was a great asset in our team. But, after Pupendai murdered Mr. Bindy I suddenly realised what a wonderful sound Pupendai and I were making without Bindy. I realised Fruit E was just a mix of garbled tracks and high pitch voices. (At the time, many little girls became our fans, we thought we were on top of the world) We got a bit of cash from merchandise.
On the end of that album we were asked by Blob Corp Studios to create a song for one of their episodes. Pupendai and I were honest with each other, we both knew Pupendai was a terrible singer. So we pulled in the fantastic vocalist, Jayn Tapilin.
She joined us in mixing 'Old Realm'. This was a very important step in our careers, Pupendai and I would later return to this sort of collab work.
Unfortunately Pupendai was arrested for murdering Mr. Bindy... and sent to a high security jail. This was a very hard time for me, and the music I produced really was.. not so nice.
2009
But anyway, I asked the jail if I could go in and record a new album with Pupendai, so I did. We recorded the ever so underground and pathetic 'July'.
Soon after that, well things got a bit crazy. I'd finally forgiven Pupendai fully and was heading to pay for his release (With our merchandise money, oh and by the way, after the murder hit the media, little girls no longer wore our shirts).
Suddenly war broke out, yes, you may remember this on the news, there were clockwork giants walking over the city, destroying homes. They also destroyed the jail, letting Pupendai escape, we both ended up on the run trying to survive the devastation.
On our travels we recording an album from place to place. My music was brilliant, but Pupendai sung pretty terribly, suppose he was quite worn out. We met so many lovely people on our travels inspiring songs like 'Comrades'. Luckily a military force named 'The Rodents' came in and knocked down all of the clockwork monsters. Inspiring the title of the album, Radio Rodent.
2010
We finally found a place to settle, on top of a pretty grassy hill, where gold fell from the sky. We picked up bits and pieces and built our own new studio to record.
This was when it hit us "General... You make music... I can't sing... lets get some guests in!"
We got in loads of guest vocalists for what ended up being, not such a great album in my opinion. I was not at the top of my game... but the vocalists were magnificent.
Jayn Tapilin came back to record our hit track, Pirates. This track hit the world by storm. The little girls were back, and some lonely people as well.
We met a huge obsessive fan of ours named Bryson Baugus. He really wanted to star in the album, so we gave him one track. We realised he was actually quite a good singer so we brought him back. All together he guested in 4 tracks.
2011
There was a huge break between Ghosts and Gold and the 2011 album. This one, we worked our hardest on, and I think, got the best result.
Too Dumb to Panic once again hit the world by storm, but not with one song! With at last 3 :O (Not quite as big as Pirates but close.)
We had some great songs and some great guest vocalists. Everything fitted. I, personally am very happy with that album.
"We should have said so long THEN." - Pupendai
Well we didn't, we picked up our instruments after a long break and recorded 3 new songs. These songs are  available on our new demos album and 2 of them on the 'Best of collection'

Our demo album is titled 'The Yeti Man's Demo Anthems'

New Album/EP release: The Yeti Man's Demo Anthems

Ekalopse released their new free to download demo album today.

Pupendai: "This release includes 3 completely new songs and the rest are just like... things that were not good enough for other albums like."

The General: "We had no producer on this one, so.. no guests, no amazing editing. All us! Very nice raw material. Apart from Pupendai singing, which is terrible."

New Song and Video from Ekalopse

Today Ekalopse released a new track and video directed by Pete Yon De'Plure, famed director of their last video 'Ekalopse Can't make music'
"Yeah Pete directed our earlier one, so we thought we'd bring him back for like, traditions sake." - Pupendai
"No videos been made since we released a' first album years ago. Why would we want to do them? We did not need the popularity, we were huge!" - Pupendai
"Steamtrain is about those people in life that don't need to try, they can just do whatever they want. Their train journey of life is much simpler than ours. They get it all easy." - Pupendai
"The music is a mostly acoustic feel but with some subtle Xtrics in there. Hope you enjoy" - The General

Pete Yo De'Plure spoke about the video in 'Mue zeeq magazine'.
"I filmed some steam trains, and then i filmed the bands faces. Then i put them together with some other stuff." Mue zeeq magazine gave the video -3/10 stars. Pupendai reviewed the video, "I don't think I am in it enough... also it lacks cute puppies.. like me.."
The General also responded, "We filmed SO much! And the only thing that made it in was me smiling? Come on! We won't be hiring that director again."
Pupendai: "What we've not told anyone is this will be our last song... on the new album and ever."
The General: "We've not had a fight or anything, we're just retiring. We've gotten old."
Pupendai: "We have... its time we put our wrinkles to good use, relaxing and watching soap operas."
The General: "Don't worry though, we still have the new music coming out so relax... "
Pupendai: "We'll also be doing a gig at the O2 next month. Tickets are now avaliable."
The General: "Mm, performing all of our ... better stuff, then releasing a best of hopefully. That will be our end note."
Pupendai: "Yeahm yeah we go get lunch now?"
The General: "Sounds good to me!"

Possible album for Ekalopse?
Pupendai was quoted saying, "Working on like, a few yeah." to a barman in a popular London nightclub.

Though it is not clear what there might be a 'few' of. But based on the recent release of the 'One Down' Demo we are hoping they mean songs!

We went to ask the band about these rumours.

Pupendai: "We're not no, but then we always are. You get me?"
The General: "It is cold in here, are you getting goosebumps?"
Pupendai: "Sorry guys but ONE Down was a ONE off, harh harh. The General hates me too much to work with me any more aint that right General?"
The General: "Not true, you're great man."
Pupendai: "Aw.. thanks."
The General: "The new album will be called The Yeti Man's Demo Anthems. Long title, but, yeah. It will be new album but with a lot of unprocessed demos. No guests, no great recording stuff. Xtric Plugkits said I cannot reveal any more."
Pupendai: "One Down, Fish Scales and King Arthur will be on it. Nothing special. Just a bunch of scrappy scraps scrapping up the place. Xtric Plugkits is busy working on other, younger bands so will be leaving us to this."

One Down (Demo)

Ekalopse have released a new demo track for your frightened ears!

It is called One Down.

Pupendai: "Yeah its a'bout like, another year passing like. Us getting older and there being nothing we can do bout it. Its still in demo stages and like, we got a broken microphone so .. yeah. Got a nice theme, hopefully that'll come in the finished song."

The General: "I always love the mixture of acoustic and electronic, listeners may have noticed that. Well here is another taster, taking sounds from 'Buzzdrop', a bit of piano, organ, synth and a bit of brass! Why not stick them all together?"

Pupendai: "Might have been better to make something that sounded a bit more commerical?"

The General: "No."

Pupendai: "This was just us, casually chilling actually. We just played with what we had in the recording studio. We dint like JUMP at it knowing what we were gunna do like, it was totally just like smooth."

The General: "It was, Pupendai playing the keyboard pretty crazy on this one, and I was stabbing those sounds in. The electronic sounds actually smashed a window. But that's another story. It is nice to be back with my old friend."

Pupendai: "WHY are you back? Your jazz career went amazing?"

The General: "I love Jazz, but I also love Ghostpop. Something, we made."

Pupendai: *Cough* And Mr. Bindy but he is dead.

The General: "Yes."

Lyrics

One Down (x4)

Fierce marking with licence
Taking my time
Fears growing and growling
Impatience, in rhyme
You can't just call up, sit next to me
We can all grow up
and age seems to be
a curse

One Down (x6)
