Hey guys, its me, Pupendai!
It has recently come to my attention that not only does our contract with Xtric come to an end in April this year, but also The General will be moving to New York, in April. It turns out I was meant to already know all of this and I should have thought about where I am going to live.
So last year we retired, but our contract was never stopped. So we had the opportunity, when we met Mop(RIP), to release some new music.
It kind of looks like 'At Our Criminal Worst' was possibly our last album, ever. And FUNeral may possibly be our last jam recorded track.
The General is already packing, his plane ticket is already bought. It is weird, it is going to be like I'm losing a friend. Well I am losing a friend, but more than a friend. We've known each other for so long. He even forgave be for murdering Mr. Bindy. THAT is a good friend.
He is my music number 2, part two of the Ekalopse crew. He says I should come with him, but I could never afford such a thing, and what would I do there? I don't think busking will help in New York, I don't think they like Ghostpop, or Badpop as they said last time we were on tour there.
If there are any fans out there with any room in their houses for a small pink dog that smokes please let me know! I will stay with you, I can pay you in vocals and keys.
So as this is almost the end..... of Ekalopse. Honest this time. I want to mention of my favourite albums and tracks.
We've been a band for over 6 years. 5 albums and one EP, 68 album tracks and over 30 B-sides.
Starting at the beginning with album Fruit Encyklopedia: Old Realm was a good song, it was the first time we'd gotten in a guest vocalist. An exciting prospect and excited us to do more. Most of the other songs are terrible though and a waste of space. Although it is remembered for its Mr. Bindy vocals and music.
Then it was July: This album, I still like to this day. It is not EPIC, or well structured, the vocals are terrible and so is the music. But it is so simple, i just a punch of beeps and bobs. Blimp was a good track on that one.
The next was Radio Rodent: To this day I don't know why we've never been able to do any 'EPIC' songs like these. The General was at his best but unfortunately I was not, lets just say running from monsters made my voice all terrible. Highlight tracks, Disaster City, Radio Rodent, Comrades, Airline, Rodent saved the Day and The War is Over.
Ghosts and Gold was next and it was a FLOP. We went out of our way to get hundreds of guest vocalists to perform on our songs after we realised I could not sing. Pirates was a hit success and was what sold the album, but after that it was just complaints. Though I agree it is terrible I still enjoy Bulldozed, Care and Pepper's Ghost.
Too Dumb to Panic was our biggest hit yet. Hopefully for a good reason as well. People loved loads of songs and liked the direction we had gone in, becoming more structured and putting a bit more effort into the tracks atmospheres. I'm going to say Magic you water me as a highlight.
Finally it was At Our Criminal Worst. So this one did not hit it that big, mainly because it was only 4 songs. But with this EP I decided to come back as focus vocalist, you won't find anyone else on it. This probably scared a few people away. Anyway, apart from my love for Dumb to Panic I think Criminal is my fave, with highlight being my favourite song we've done, WINGS.
There are lots of jamming bsides we have performed but none are really worth mentioning, well maybe /Outside the Palace Part 2, Universal Monsters and Unlistenable Grim Reaper.
We also hope you enjoyed FUNeral

RIP MOP
This was posted on Soundcloud.com along with a new recorded track
"Quite a sad day for us at Ekalopse as our recently new bassist MOP.. has passed away.. at 3:35 today.
He had gotten a terrible case of splinters over the last few months. :*(
He turned up ill after one of our jamming sessions, and because of this we only recorded the 3 songs on the EP 'At our criminal worst'. Unfortunately for Mop, this would be his first and last record with us. His bass was brilliant, he was a star, a better musician than me (Pupendai) by far. Not better than The General but whatevs.
We made this song in memory of him, but also in memory of Mr. Bindy, our other dead band member.. this was murder but still a horrible loss (Even though i did it).
RIP
Mr. Bindy and Mop
Two brilliant, amazing parts of Ekalopse, you brought something amazing into our lives in the form of your music.
If anyone is wondering why this song sounds similar to 'Ghosts and Gold' and stuff its caus it was only the two of us making it..
tears
Pupendai and The General of Ekalopse"
We guessed something was up a few days ago when Mop posted on his official Twitter page 'In the hospital AGAIN! Just wanna jam with DJ Dial-Up' Since releasing work with Ekalopse he'd gathered up a lot of interest from other artists eager to get him on board
'His bass lines were amazing, the song 'Wings' is out of this world. Not to mention apparently he wrote the whole song, them other Ekalopse crew have always been known to be terrible, that was until Mop came along and did Wings'. - DJ Dial-Up.
'I was always jealous of Mop, not many people could pull off that hair style, but he did.' - Britney Spears
'The bass!!! The bass in that Ekalopse EP! That was Mop, will live on in our memories! Shows anyone can get Splinters these days!!!!!' - Brian Cox
About the song:
"Hello to all of the Ekalopse fans out there. This is The General here, I don't talk much on this blog, or online in general. But I did want to come on here and say thanks to all of our fans for supporting us in our journey. We have had some ups and downs along the way and you have always stood by.
We made this FUNeral song in memory, not only of our good friend Mop but also in memory of our long lost friend, Mr. Bindy.
The song is not exactly a dedication, as I'm sure they'd both say it was too depressing or not well structured enough. Although Mop never said that much anyway.
It was literally us throwing our sadness into music.
/Mop can be seen on the left on this picture.

Rain dance and cloudy run, standing here yesterday, asked one by one, have you ever seen a gun?
Hey dudes!
Pupendai here, hope we did not scare you! Hoping we still in ya playlists and still got dem fans out there! If not, then oh well it is goin to be a lonely post.
Ok so you guys already know that me and the General sadly retired.. and then one special EP for you guys 'At Our Criminal Worst' . But still ultimately, we have retired from Ekalopse.
But that does not mean Ekalopse is no more, our music will live on! Share with your friends! Our Too Dumb to Panic hit the world by storm, I'm sure your babies will love it as well.
We've been a band since 2007, slowly gaining popularity .... some wacky stuff happened. We made some absolutely excellent songs.
Unfortunately we have gotten rather old.. and so have started to feel like knitting is our true futures. I'm just kidding of course, I'm playing video games and the General has gone on to make a massive amount of beautiful orchestral music. It is lovely.I am really proud of him.
Mop on the other hand has gone and joined Linkin Park as their new bass guitarist.... like they don't already have enough members not doing anything in the band.

Thats me being spotted in New York. Look at all those people trying to get my attention. Well.. i think it was for my attention, though they were filming a new smurfs movie beside me at the time.

We put a bit of info on the official page but I'll let ya guys kno a lil bit more here.
We were making all them lil scratchy tunes after our retirement, basically jamming sessions. We did a lot of jamming sessions and released about 2 jamming albums. Those are currently unavailable to download now but like, they gave you the idea that we STILL liked makin music together even tho we'd retired.
So we were hanging out at a nightclub recently and heard someone playin bass all by them self without a band! So we thought, ya know, lets grab him, so we opened the cubicle door in the bathroom and pulled him out and said, you wanna jam with us?
Mop was not just up for jamming, he pushed us into making some full, proper songs! So we made this EP of like 4 songs. (3 new, and 1 is our retirement track)
I know what you'll be asking be4 u even start listening to the songs. ARE YA MAKING MORE? ARE YA GOING TO MAKE A WHOLE NEW ALBUM NOW?
answer is no. Unfortunately this will be our last musical journey together for a long while. The General.. sadly is moving away to america to continue his jazz work.
It is kinda a sad time 4 us, so please make us happy with your comments on our new songs!
