Ekalopse release surprise new album: REALITY THERAPY

So we've had these new tracks lying around. Our faves we stuck on the EKAPOPS collection. But our list was growing to a point we thought, let's just make a new album! Our last album was released in 2011 I believe with only an EP and Collection released since.

2015, the year of Reality Therapy.

Our most personal record yet, and I'll stress that some tracks are so personal we didn't even care what we were doing so they sound terrible....

It's an art piece I suppose. Of depression. I'm not sure if there any happy songs on this album. No Pirates. Though the James Bralant song is oddly disturbing.

Anyway, Reality Therapy is here and this is the cover.

Track update

Hi everyone!
I wanted to compile another Track update. Basically letting everyone know of the newest tracks released in case you missed them! The General and I were very hard at work for a portion of time before he disapeared off to New Orleans or whatever to be a Jazz king.
So here is a quick list. If we had a new album I guess these would be the ruddy songs.

1. Living all at Once
2. Coin/Toss
3. Swap Meet Sound
4. World Tear us Apart
5. Easy Street
6. Come and Go
7. Death of a Lyricist
8. Riots on the Streets (Vocal Remix)
9. M.D.I

Coin/Toss

New song released and added to the Ekapops: Ghostpop Collection!
Enjoy!

Single Cover

Coin/Toss Lyrics

We can tell
when you've been looking down the well
There aint no place
I tell you now, there aint no place to call home

Back In, unpack
In a country with someone you love
Back down, unpack
Reality is dawning on you

Packing up, taking notes
Recalling the times you decided
You grounding down, taking naps
Looking up at the stars in the night

It's hollow, you could hide out here
If we lay low. I'll overcome my fears.
I'm over powered with my calm mind
I seem soft boiled.
Breakfast for the soul.

Back In, unpack
In a country with someone you love
Back down, unpack
Reality is dawning on you

YOYOYO Eka-pops: The Ghostpop Collection Official Release

You can now listen our new album!

This collection has (23) songs from the past and present (And some would argue, the future).

Some of them were recorded in a scrappy studio, some were recorded in space. I don't think any of them were recorded in a prison but...anyway. This is basically all of our favourite tracks from most of our albums.
I know you'll have some faves and you'll be really upset they don't appear well FEAR NOT. The Collection includes SEVEN songs you've probably never heard of anyway. Yes that is right! It's a best of with new tracks. Howdeedoodeee everyone go to the bathroom.

The whole thing is 1 hour 12 minutes and 36 seconds. If you ask me, that is way too long to be listening to this rubbish. But whatever. I wanted to make a note here, a sad note. In 2thousand and something we did officially retire. It was a bit of a lie of course. But this time I do believe this is it. Not for any big reason, just The General has taken his own path now back into the Jazz world, while I'm working in a shop that sells musical fridges.

Since Ekalopse came to be we've produce about 134 songs. (We counted). That's pretty crazy. That's not even including the tracks we worked on with Mr. Bindy, RIP (50) So bringing this down to 23 was.. i guess hard. Though most of our music is terrible so maybe it was not. Our first song and big hit across the globe was 'Ekalopse can't make music'. Since then we've gone from strength to strength producing even more terrible music for your ears. Tracklist and art below.

Ekalopse BIO

They are a band, They've fought clockwork monsters, the universe and themselves.
Ekalopse started off with the talented keyboardist and vocalist, Mr Bindy bringing together a band of plenty.
Mr Bindy met The General in university and the soon to be vocalist, Pupendai in a dustbin looking for food. They connected automatically and created a revolting sound.
Mr. Bindy's high pitched voice and chirpy tunes on their album, Fruit Encyklopedia brought little girls calling and singing.
FE Singles: Ekalopse can't make music, Old Realm, Maniac, Blood Eyes Reflection

After that success Pupendai lost his mind and brutally murdered Mr. Bindy due to his high voice getting really annoying.

A few years later The General contacted the jail keeping Pupendai and asked if they could make some music. they recorded the album, 'July' whilst passing music through to the jail, where Pupendai wrote and recorded various lyrics.
July Singles: Echo Ello, Blimp

Then monsters began to attack the world, they crashed down the prison letting Pupendai out.
The General met up with Pupendai and they made a musical journey of their experience during war time with their album, Radio Rodent.
RR Singles: Airline, The War is Over, Disaster City, Comrades

After this they found a relaxing spot to just chill, on top of a nice hill. They built their own lovely studio and recorded 'Ghosts and Gold' as gold fell from the sky. This was the first time they called in collaborators to work on their music.
Ghosts and Gold got 2/10 stars from MegaMutant Pops Magazine.
G&G Singles: Bulldozed, Pirates, Bus Stop, Pepper's Ghost, Care

Ekalopse did not let that get them down. Their next adventure involved them using the money they had earnt to fly themselves into space.
"We wanted to be inspired by something not earthly, out of this world."
They recorded their most popular album, "Too Dumb to Panic" entirely in a space station on the planet Florf.
TDTP Singles: Control, Sundial, This Love is not a Simple Tune, Picnic, Beach Chair, Magic you water me, Buzzdrop

In 2012 they released their last album, a demo album titled 'The Yeti Man's Demo Anthems'. It included some new tracks, as well as ones that never made it onto the other albums.

YMDA Singles: 'Steamtrain' got a music video

Their record producers Xtric Plugkits (produced Too Dumb) then released their Best Of Album, a collection of songs chosen by Ekalopse themselves.

As this happened the band announced a public retirement. But unfortunately returned with a 4 song EP instead.

'At our Criminal Worst' had 3 completely new songs with new bass guitarist MOP. The fourth track was their retirement song, 'Steamtrain' (From the Yeti Album)

Every track was released as a single apart from Steamtrain 'Foxtrot, Lance is not on this Floor and the massive hit, Wings'

On 19/02/13 the band lost their bass guitarist, Mop to a terrible case of Splinters. They produced a short song in his memory.

Since the loss of Mop, their retirement has seen them releasing Jamming Sessions and small Musical Collab pieces. No singles as of yet. But many unfinished tracks.

In April 2015, Ekalopse set up a SoundCloud page dedicated to their favourite tracks. They named it 'Ekapops' and stated that they saw it as a new album for some reason. To their credit, it did include a few new tracks.

While doing so Ekalopse also announced their unofficial break-up. Stating that the two artists had gone their separate ways.

On May 17th 2015, Ekalopse released a new album titled, 'Reality Therapy'. This collection of tracks was a variety of unreleased and previously released tracks from the EKAPOPS collection. They stated the album was their most personal yet. "At one point I'd caught this horrible mental illness that constantly kept bringing back exaggerated negative memories at random times! I still have it..." - Pupendai. "It's about friends and lovers and how they disappear."

It is believed the actual members are still separate at this point.

Reality Therapy Singles: The Lonely Song, Living all at Once, James Bralant, you're OK, Anthem for Rejects, Pyramid Games

Since the release it has been reported that The General is still in the US working on his Jazz career.

On 17/10/2015 the band released a song named 'Easter' when The General came back to the UK for a holiday. It was a critical success. No news whether this might lead to more music. It was later included on the official release of the album, 'Reality Therapy'.

On 01/02/2016 Ekalopse released a surprise album titled 'OK, WE WILL'. Asked in an interview what the title meant, Pupendai said it was the answer to the question 'Can you stop making music please?'.

The album was mostly produced by Pupendai and new musician, S. Steps. Though it was noted that The General did send material via the medium of email.

'Another very personal album. I'd say... as personal as Reality Therapy but with a bit more professionalism to it...'

OK, WE WILL Singles: Forever Alone, 2000s,

07/08/2016 brought the release and blog post about new album, 'Fun but Dead'. S. Steps returned to work with Pupendai while The General worked on the album during a holiday to the UK.

The band mentioned they wanted to make a happier sounding album after two previously depressing collections.

Fun but Dead singles: Keep Telling Me, In The Morning, James Bralant doesn't even want to think about it

On 4/02/2017 Ekalopse posted a blog post about their new song 'Never Be Happy'. They noted that while their new album had yet to be completed, fans could listen to both finished songs and demos via their Soundcloud Album page. Their future album has yet to recieve a title. At this point in time the work in progress is named 'When I Forget the Sky'. There is no word on release date.

On 27/03/2017 Ekalopse released their new album 'No Birds' with 16 tracks including singles Never Be Happy and Crayolalola. The band (minus S.Steps) had a photo shoot where they were dressed in feathered outfits for the cover art. It was also reported that The General had returned to the UK.
